Re-elect Councilmember Nils Nehrenheim WHY ME? The only way to prepare is to work with the Community. To listen. To ask questions.

There's no degree, no education, no class that any person could possibly take that can prepare you to represent your Community. To try to understand, not be understood. Representing Redondo takes many skills and forms, the essence is being able to engage all stakeholders with diverse opinions in open conversation. The ability to listen, without forming or articulating a personal opinion, is one of

Thank you Easy Reader & BeachLife for sponsoring the Redondo Beach Roundtable at the Veterans Park Library last night! For those who missed the event, here's the link to the video of the Mayoral Candidates session.

I always appreciate the opportunity to candidly answer questions that are important to our community, which were masterfully posed by Marcus Goodloe, Ph.D. It was a fantastic evening!

At the City Council Meeting last Tuesday, I was the dissenting vote of moving the proposed Cannabis Ordinance forward. The increased participation from residents at Council Meetings on this HUGE issue in the last year is exciting and signals a community that cares deeply about its future. Your voices matter. I'm committed to hearing and learning more.

My proposal was to send the Ordinance back to the Planning Commission for a thorough analysis of the changes made Tuesday night to the proposed potential dispensary locations. I felt this extra step is crucial to understanding potential impacts on neighborhoods, traffic, and local businesses. Engaging with experts and gathering input from residents will lead to a more thoughtful, informed decision. It’s our chance to gather diverse perspectives and address concerns related to safety for everyone. Again, I was the dissenting vote. The Council Majority moved the Ordinance forward, incorporating the new changes.

I embrace a responsible leadership style that values transparency, collaboration and thoroughness. It’s about building a framework that truly benefits the community as a whole as approving a Cannabis Ordinance will have lasting implications. For now, keep sharing your diverse perspectives. I'm listening, I'm hearing you, and I continue to always learn.

CIRCA 2014 AT THE RIVIERA VILLAGE FESTIVAL. Already deeply concerned about over-development of what is now the Legado project at PCH & PV Blvds, I was further inspired to engage with citizens wanting to protect our waterfront from the same.

Already involved with "Save the Riviera," I co-founded Rescue our Waterfront, inspiring hundreds of residents to join us. I led the grass roots campaign that qualified our citizens initiative for the March 2017 ballot that passed overwhelmingly. Two months later District 1 voters seated me as their City Council Member where I've served for 8 years. Great things happening now were voted on and implemented in the City during my tenure.

I am the only candidate for Mayor who can proudly say I was an integral part of enacting the improvements in our City, how it operates more efficiently and transparently, and establishing our resident-centric Strategic Plan for the future.
