Summer is here, and we’ve got the perfect weekend plan for you! We’re teaming up with the folks at MonteVista Homes, at Feather Ridge for a special community celebration, and we’d love for you to join us! ☀️🐾

We’ll have some of our adoptable pets there hoping to meet their future families, complimentary coffee from the Sage & June mobile cart, yard games, and the opportunity to tour the beautiful new neighborhood. 🏡

Darwin and his siblings want to meet you today! We’re packing up some of our adoptable pets and heading to Raise the Woof, a summer adoption event and pet supply drive hosted by our amazing community partners at Bliss Roofing!

Bliss Roofing’s support goes far beyond this event. They also sponsor our Enrichment & Meet-and-Greet Room at BrightSide! A space that makes a huge difference for the dogs in our care. It’s where they get to step away from the hustle and bustle of shelter life, enjoy a Kong on the couch, practice new skills, meet potential adopters, and simply relax.

Looking at these puppies today, you would never guess what they have already overcome… These little babies were found in an abandoned trailer with their mom, who unfortunately didn’t survive. After arriving at BrightSide, they were also diagnosed with parvovirus. After everything they had already been through, giving up on them was not an option!

With a lot of support from our medical team, care team, and a wonderful foster home, these little survivors now have a clean bill of health and will be ready for a much brighter future this Saturday!

Right now, we are in the midst of our busy season, and with the warming temperatures comes an increase in puppies and kittens entering our care. We have all the love and compassion to give them, but we need funding and adopters to help with the rest.

As abandoned encampments are being cleared throughout our community, we’ve been working alongside CompanionAnimalMedicalProject to help cats who have been displaced from those areas. Many of these cats have spent their lives living outdoors and are used to having the freedom to roam. While they may not be suited for a traditional indoor only home, that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve safety, care, and a place to belong.

Right now, we have several working cats looking for opportunities where they can thrive in an outdoor environment. Barns, shops, warehouses, and similar settings can provide these cats with the independence they prefer, along with reliable food, shelter, and people who will look out for them.

Every one of our working cats is seen by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before placement. Adoption fees are donation based!

Just one look at this smile and it’s hard not to fall for Beckham! 🤎

Beckham is a 1 year old mixed breed who came to us as a stray from Culver. We’re still getting to know him, but so far he’s been nothing short of wonderful. He recently spent some time in a foster home and did great with a female dog. His foster also shared that he absolutely loves people and wants to be part of whatever you’re doing.

Like most young dogs, Beckham could use a little help with potty training and learning the ropes of home life. He was curious about the foster home’s cats so will need patience and proper introduction, but overall just seemed playful.

Even though Beckham is fairly new to the shelter, he’s already proved to be a wonderful dog with so much love to give a family. You can meet him anytime Tuesday - Saturday 10am through 5:30pm at BrightSide!
