So this post is to tell you where we came from. JWR Cattle Company started in 1998 with the first Shorthorn heifer John bought with his grandfather's help. Prior to this, John had always admired some big stout white cows his grandpa had that came from his dad's herd. And one day, he saw a picture of his dad with his winning steer at the county fair. He knew right then that he wanted to be a cattle showman. With time, dedication, and great mentors, it has grown. In 2015, his nephew Wade started showing that heifer in the picture, and that heifer went back to some of John's first cattle. And now Maren, John's older daughter, is taking the lead, showing some of the stock he and his nephew have raised. You can say this has been in the works for generations.

Looking through calves and getting excited — we can’t wait to show them off this fall, especially with this new view. Big things have been happening!
