Today a look at our largest model in stock, The Retreat. The optional interior wall can be placed in any location not blocking a window. 9.85ft x 19.7ft. (3M x 6M). 194 sf.

We are admirers of Tuff Shed for their marketing, success and we can compliment them as we compete in a different market segment. https://www.tuffshed.com/ :) They don't do many insulated office sheds.

However, we keep getting their support calls! We also had a problem with roof leaks and we serviced past our warranty period as it was an early design error for an unusual snow, melt, freeze pattern east of Seattle over a year ago. Adding spray foam to even the smallest roof seams addressed this rare 'capillary effect' leak issue.

We get asked a lot about affordable housing or DADUs (Detached Accessory Dwelling Units). We have designs for units that have been deployed all over the world and even for the US military as housing units in places like Guam. I'm a former Army officer and we were innovative when it became necessary for the mission.

Unfortunately in Seattle and in many other building departments innovation or even considering a construction method not invented before the 1970s becomes a drag out process doomed to bureaucracy and lack of skillset. Imagine if our tech economy worked this way!

Our first inquiries to SDCI (Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections) where a 2 day response is promised have not been returned after 6 business days. We'll continue to press forward and hope to get a response at least.

BTW, last time I entered into such a battle I ended up on the front page of the Seattle Times, so there is some hope. It took attending council meetings, lobbying the press, and riding a hot topic, but this one may be worth it. If not for us, for other innovative builders.

Budgets are tight these days and we get a lot of interest from those seeking something at a lower price. We sharpened our pencils and by going with thinner (2" not 3") panels, adding only two windows and a standard door we have a concept that we may retail for $4,900 in kit form. That includes shipping and 25% tariff costs. DIY installation can be done in 4 hours by a crew of 3-4. The galvanized steel 27 gauge (not 23 gauge) walls will be flat and white, but can be painted. We can do a delivery of 18 to a site to cut out warehouse costs at a significant discount for those looking for worker or tiny house village housing. Share you thoughts!

At the Seattle home this week we saw sheds with T-111 plywood siding at similar prices. Not a horrible product if maintained well, but compared to 23 gauge galvanized steel (most cars have 20-22 gauge steel) + insulation we are apples and oranges.
