Ixchel Triangle
Wearable art that is handmade in Guatemala Ixchel Triangle products are 100% handmade in Guatemala by indigenous Maya woman. bless the maker, bless the buyer.
We transform huipils, the traditional Maya blouse, into unique handcrafted products. We are proud to re-purpose and give new life to these beautiful huipils which have been hand woven traditionally using a backstrap loom. With every purchase you make at Ixchel Triangle you are directly supporting a family in Guatemala with daily necessities and education. Each one of our bags is one of a kind all

The combination I wear everyday! An awabal satchel and crossbody strap. Even when I carry my large explorer bag, I have the Awabal inside of it, to grab and go.
I do a lot of walking on the streets here in Antigua, as well as flying back and forth to the states. As much as I change up my bags I always end up going back to the Awabal, which has been a staple for about a decade now š¬
Did you know our brand name Ixchel comes from the Mayan goddess of weaving (the moon, and fertility), how could you not love that?!
The art of back-strap loom weaving is a tradition dating back over 2,000 years. We honor this ancient art form and continue it. Happily working with back-strap, and foot-loomed weavers to create new works of art. Never deconstructing vintage weavings or huipils. We are also thankful to have built these relationships with our private label clients. Ensuring all of their materials are custom made, and ethically produced, by our team.
Just trying to hold it together

The more places I see and experience, the bigger I realize the world to be. The more I become aware of, the more I realize how relatively little I know of it, how many places I have still to go, how much more there is to learn. ~Anthony Bourdain
