Optimist Redlands

Come on out to the Redlands Optimist Club Oktoberfest. Today at Sylvan Park Redlands until 7 pm. There’s a free Kids Zone, co****le, food vendors, Uptown wine bar, J Riley Distillary and lots of BEER! Plus a German brass band and country music from Sweet Mischief. It’s nothin’ but a good time! All proceeds go to the Redlands Optimist Club to fund youth programs and events throughout the community.

Today the Redlands Optimist Club, in partnership with the City of Redlands and California Department of Fish and Wildlife, held a fishing derby at Ford Park in Redlands. Participants from the Redlands Unified School District received training in casting, fish handling and knot tying before hitting the lakes. They caught lots of catfish and even one bass. The kids participated in three age categories and received prizes for the biggest fish caught. Bass Pro Shops contributed prizes and colorful caps. Thanks to all who participated and volunteered to make this event happen. Many fish stories and fun memories were created today.

Former NFL Head Coach and Super Bowl Champion Brian Billick spoke at the Redlands Optimist Club’s lunch meeting today. A great time was had by all! Thank you, Coach!

The Redlands Optimist Club has teamed up with The Unforgettables Foundation for a March Madness Tip-Off event with Hall of Fame coach Stan Morrison, Thursday March 17th.
