🎬 The former LOOK Cinemas property in Redlands has a new owner.

Public records reviewed by Community Forward Redlands show the property at 340 N. Eureka St. sold for an apparent $6.2 million to an entity managed by a developer already behind several major projects in Redlands.

CFR reviewed the grant deed and related financing records to identify who is behind the purchase. The big question now: What does the new owner plan to do with the longtime theater site?

We reached out to the developer about its plans for the property. Here's what we know:

The Redlands City Council has approved the creation of the Redlands Housing Corporation, a nonprofit that creates the legal structure for the city to potentially acquire and operate the Step Up In Redlands permanent supportive housing property after the for-profit developer, Shangri-La LLC, faced foreclosure amid allegations of fraud.

Tickets are now available for one of Redlands' tastiest summer traditions.

The Redlands Chamber of Commerce's annual Cocktail Competition returns Aug. 20 to the Mitten Building, where 12 local restaurants and bars will compete to create the city's official 2026 Signature Orange Drop Cocktail.

Attendees will sample original cocktails and mocktails, vote for the People's Choice Award and watch judges crown this year's winner.

A recent study found that 86% of 9- to 17-year-olds say they use AI, and one in four reported using it daily.

As AI becomes more common in workplaces and schools, Redlands Unified is developing a framework for how students and teachers can use artificial intelligence safely and responsibly in classrooms.

A 16-year-old was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting Sunday evening at the Mountain Grove/Citrus Plaza shopping center, according to Redlands police.

Police say the shooting followed an altercation involving a group of individuals. A 17-year-old suspect was arrested inside the Target store, and investigators recovered the fi***rm with assistance from the Hemet Police Department's K-9 unit.

The investigation remains ongoing.

🛝🌳💦What should the future of Redlands parks look like?

According to a new community survey, residents want more places for children to play, cool off and spend time outdoors. Splash pads, playgrounds, shade and trails ranked among the community's top priorities in the city's first Parks Master Plan.

The plan also outlines proposed improvements at parks across Redlands, including future upgrades at Brookside Park, Smiley Park, Crafton Park, Ed Hales Park and more. Most of the projects are long-term priorities that will require future funding.
