Our long time Treasurer, friend, and dedicated advocate for Redford Township, Steve Gierak, has passed away. Steve was still out collecting donations for Goodfellows papers until only a couple of years ago! His passion for making sure there was No Child Without a Christmas was unmatched! Living until 104 years old, Steve led an amazing life and we will all miss him terribly.

Rest easy Steve. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

It's almost time for our annual Newspaper Sales donation event! Our wonderful volunteers will be out in the streets this Friday and Saturday from dawn until dusk collecting your generous donations and sharing our paper.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join the team of Goodfellows this weekend. Just come on over to the Redford Township Police station Friday or Saturday to pick up supplies!

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our friend and Vice President, Cindy Doyle. As a dedicated public servant, Cindy worked in the probation department of the 17th District Court for over 25 years, helping people get their life on the correct path. Cindy was most known for her love and devotion to the Redford Township community through her efforts with the Redford Goodfellows. Cindy donated herself to those who needed assistance in the Township, especially during the holidays. She also made sure to share her dedication to the community by making it a family affair, with her brother, Bill, at every event and her niece, Mariah, growing up in the Goodfellows and then joining the Police Explorers. Cindy went out of her way every day to provide assistance to Redford Township seniors, children, and families, and she will be deeply missed by those who knew her and will be irreplaceable to the Goodfellows organization.

Visitation for Cindy will be at Charles Step Funeral Home on Monday, March 24th beginning at 12pm, with a service at 6pm. Please come and share your stories of Cindy with her friends and family as we mourn the loss of our dear friend.

The Redford Goodfellows hosted Shop with a Hero this week at Meijer. Thank you to the Redford Township Police Department and the Redford Township Fire Department for being the Heroes for our participating children to shop for Christmas gifts with.

Thank you to Meijer, Store #188 for hosting our event!

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday. We know that times are tough and that budgets might be tight. Unfortunately, kids don't understand that there may not be much left after bills are paid. They are just excited to see what will be under the tree for them on Christmas morning.
