The Lone Stranger and Accomplice who pulled off the Asphalt Cowboys' Tuesday's mock robbery of the Five Star Bank were identified Wednesday as Redding Police Chief Brian Barner and Karline Niver, the owner of two downtown Redding restaurants, Karline's and Deja Vu. The person who figured it out and turned them in is Dan Kupsky, a retired Redding Police sergeant. Kupsky gets $400 reward for his keen investigative work. The loot has still not been found. The reward is now down to $300.
THE ASPHALT COWBOYS LOOT HAS NOT BEEN FOUND AND THE LONE STRANGER AND ACCOMPLICE HAVE NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED, SO THERE'S STILL MONEY TO BE MADE. EACH REWARD STARTED TUESDAY AT $500, AND IT DROPS BY $100 A DAY, SO THEY'RE NOW $300 EACH. HERE'S TODAY'S CLUE FOR FINDING THE LOOT:
There were many eyes on the spot where the loot did stay,
Not the kind that would know what to do with it anyway.
Birds, foxes, raccoons, and the like,
Sit and watch as the unsuspecting people walk by.
THE LOOT HAS INSTRUCTIONS WITH IT ON HOW TO CLAIM THE REWARD. IT'S NEVER ON PRIVATE PROPERTY.
HERE'S TODAY'S CLUE FOR IDENTIFYING THE LONE STRANGER AND ACCOMPLICE:
The Stranger and Sidekick were counting the loot,
When a nearby owl gave a strange, “Hoot”.
One grabbed their blade and got ready to cut,
The other pulled their smokewagon for who knows what?
GUESSES ON BOTH THEIR IDENTITIES CAN BE CALLED IN TO 530-223-1188
THE COWBOYS WANT TO ADVISE THAT GRAMMATICAL AND SPELLING ERRORS ARE INTENTIONAL
EACH REWARD STARTED YESTERDAY AT $500, AND IT DROPS BY $100 A DAY, SO THEY'RE NOW $400 EACH. HERE'S YESTERDAY'S FIRST CLUE FOR FINDING THE LOOT:
The Stranger and sidekick slipped away with the loot,
And put it where a tree had just taken root.
The spot they decided would be only the best,
And would put would-be finders' minds to the test.
AND HERE'S TODAY'S LOOT CLUE:
It stayed in its spot undisturbed for yet another day,
While they looked high and low for their chance to get away.
It was not meant to be at a particular height,
Just a place that was not in obvious plain sight.
THE LOOT HAS INSTRUCTIONS WITH IT ON HOW TO CLAIM THE REWARD. HERE'S YESTERDAY'S FIRST CLUE FOR IDENTIFYING THE LONE STRANGER AND ACCOMPLICE:
This just in: Five Star hit in a robbery today,
By the Lone Stranger and Sidekick, the Cowboys gave chase.
They ran through the town by rail and 44,
Finally held up in a loft and then slammed the door.
AND HERE'S TODAY'S CLUE FOR IDENTIFYING THE LONE STRANGER AND ACCOMPLICE
They didn't go far they had much more to do,
What was next on the list for this dastardly two?
The Posse rode past them, then stopped for a bite,
At a local hall where the food was just right.
IF YOU CAN IDENTIFY BOTH OF THEM CALL 530-223-1188
THERE'S MONEY TO BE CLAIMED FOLLOWING A MOCK BANK ROBBERY AS PART OF REDDING RODEO WEEK. AT 8:45 THIS MORNING THE LONE STRANGER AND ACCOMPLICE ROBBED THE FIVE STAR BANK ON HARTNELL AVENUE AND, AS USUAL, THE ASPHALT COWBOYS WERE UNABLE TO STOP THEM. A REWARD OF $500 IS AVAILABLE FOR FINDING THE LOOT TODAY. HERE'S THE FIRST CLUE:
The Stranger and sidekick slipped away with the loot,
And put it where a tree had just taken root.
The spot they decided would be only the best,
And would put would-be finders' minds to the test.
THE REWARD FOR IDENTIFYING THE LONE STRANGER AND ACCOMPLICE IS ALSO $500 TODAY. HERE'S THE FIRST CLUE:
This just in: Five Star hit in a robbery today,
By the Lone Stranger and Sidekick, the Cowboys gave chase.
They ran through the town by rail and 44,
Finally held up in a loft and then slammed the door.

Adoption fees paid for by Bissell until the 9th!
Did you know today is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day? 🐾
We might be biased, but we believe every day is the perfect day to adopt. Still, today is a powerful reminder of just how much your choice can change a life!
Just ask Harlan.
Harlan is a 9-month-old puppy who came to us about a week ago after being found as a stray. He was wearing a very dirty, tight collar and had wounds on his neck that are now healing. We may never know exactly what he went through before arriving, but we do know that adoption gives dogs like Harlan the second chance they deserve.
More reasons adoption matters:
• Opens space for another animal in need
• Our pets come spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated,
• helping prevent overpopulation, lost pets, and disease
• Find your perfect match (you can find just about anything at a shelter or rescue!)
If you’re ready to make a difference, stop by our Adoption Center today until 5:00 PM and meet pets like Harlan! 🐶
