This summer, 53 local youth ages 6โ12 explored the wonders of water and nature through Camp King: Whale Tail. Thanks to the support of the WHALE TAILยฎ Grants Program of the California Coastal Commission, campers learned about rivers, lakes, and ecosystems through hands-on activities and adventures! ๐ฟ
During the Shasta Caverns field trip, many campers took their very first boat ride, and several had never even seen Shasta Lake โ one of the largest bodies of water right in their own backyard! ๐ค This hands-on experience helped campers better understand the importance of inland waterways, wildlife, and water resources.
We are so grateful for this grant support, which made it possible to inspire future environmental stewards and create unforgettable summer memories. ๐๐
