The Peace Lantern Processional is to honor diversity and to create an experience of peace… and an experience of beauty. As we stood together on Th, May 14, 2026, we stood in support of peace and in support of diversity. Each individual present, whether a lantern bearer or the public who came to witness the processional, signifies support of such!

Each handcrafted lantern carries on its side a Chinese symbol for peace, a symbol representing a faith tradition and 2 peace prayers.

Easter is the principal festival of the Christian church, celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his Crucifixion. The Resurrection is a central doctrine of Christianity and forms the basis of salvation and the hope of eternal life. As its feast, Easter is a joyful affirmation of the belief that through Christ’s conquering of death all Christians will subsequently share in his victory over “sin, death, and the Devil.” Although still predominantly a religious festival, in some places the introduction of customs such as egg hunts and treat-filled baskets from the Easter bunny has gradually led to the holiday being embraced by both Christian and secular communities, particularly in the United States and the United Kingdom.
