🍎☀️ SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM ☀️🍎

Because summer should be about making memories—not worrying about meals.

From June 8 through August 7, the Shasta Family YMCA will be serving FREE breakfast and lunch to all youth ages 0–18.

🥣 Breakfast: 9:30–10:30 AM
🍽️ Lunch: 12:30–1:30 PM

We're proud to help keep kids fueled, active, and ready for their BEST SUMMER EVER. Whether you're spending the day at the Y or just stopping by for a meal, everyone is welcome.

Anna is an incredible team member. Anna collaborates, takes initiative, supports and trains staff and works to give the EHS Mentees her best! Anna has outstanding work ethic and strives to produce the highest quality in all she does. Anna does all this with the most genuinely positive attitude. Annis a true gift to Shasta Head Start!

Shasta Head Start would like to recognize one of our amazing teachers from our Mary Street Center, Vania Coker!

Vania consistently goes above and beyond to create a nurturing, positive and engaging environment where toddlers feel safe, loved, encouraged and excited to learn. Her reliability, strong work ethic and willingness to always step in and help wherever needed makes such a positive impact on the classroom and team. Through patience, teamwork, leadership and a caring heart, vania helps make each day smoother for both children and staff. The kindness, positivity, and dedication brought into the classroom never goes unnoticed and truly reflects the heart of Shasta Head Start!

Shasta Lake Head Start got the pleasure to have two amazing volunteers this year. Lilyona and Hannah. Both local Central Valley seniors that completed the ROP: Careers with Children program this year. They spent the last 6 months getting hands on experience in the classroom several times a week, while also balancing their own classes and schoolwork.

Lilyona and Hannah came in every day with positive attitudes, caring hearts, and a genuine desire to learn and grow within the field of Early Childhood Education. Their willingness to jump in, ask questions, push themselves out of their comfort zone, and continue developing their skills has been truly inspiring. It has been such a joy watching these students grow throughout their time with us.

We are so grateful for the time, energy, and love they shared with our program and cannot wait to see all the amazing things they accomplish in the future. Thank you for being part of the Shasta Lake Head Start team!
