Mark Power Coaching
Coaching is about strengthening and growing, and becoming more powerful in your life.
It helps you discover your authentic self, allowing you to attain meaning, particularly during significant life transitions. The coaching journey is about exploring “outside the lines” of life as it is now. Another facet of living fully is taking time to reflect on what’s most important in our lives. Coaching relies on this; carving is a great metaphor for transformation; contemplation connects us to spaciousness and creativity. I offer guidance and support for developing a contemplative practice. And then, there’s my online store for some spoon love!
Just a word to clarify: my coaching site is also my carving store. These two aspects of my creative work have much in common: attention, curiosity, patience, creativity… So, I gave them a home together in my new website (link in bio) Check it out if you’ve got a minute. Shout out to Lizzy at EC Studios for her wonderful work creating the new site. I recommend her highly!

Progress report: Spurtle carving. Mission complete! Lessons learned: black walnut is beautiful; check! Black walnut is temperamental; check :) Looking forward to trying this form in birch. And, the piece with a salmon coloring is cherry, also a more agreeable carving partner!!

Status report: Spurtles… very simple form, not so simple medium (mostly black walnut). Wavy grain makes for a pretty piece but it sure makes you work for it. I’ll let them dry for a day or two and then do finish cuts, some sanding, and oil them. I’ll post the final results then.
