Yesterday was the first presentation of our new musical, SOUND OF THE SILK ROAD! What a joy and inspiration to collaborate with and ! And incredible to watch these remarkably talented actors so deftly handle 29 hours of countless rewrites and then perform like that’s the way it’s always been. And to end up with something that felt seamless, was laugh out loud funny, and genuinely moving is more than this writer could have hoped for. Deepest gratitude. 🙏🏼🫶🏼🙏🏼

And you leave it ALL in the room, then go off to perform an exhaustive track in Hades, Moulin, Hamilton, Mozart, and whatever other shows you’re in or auditioning for. You are equal parts artist and athlete, and you are deeply appreciated on the other side of the table. You inspire and energize, not just for this piece but for everything I’m working on. 🙏🏼✍️ xo
