Decided to take a break from the Norm of Trains and spend some time in the back yard being it was a beautiful day out yesterday.

Here is a Blue-winged digger wasp taking in some food from the Butterfly bush!

On Thursday Night I managed to snag an opportunity to photography 2 of Norfolk Southerns Brand New Tier 4 Emission Compliant locomotives as they hustle train 294 (Chicago, Ill, to Bethlehem, PA) Double Stack train through the town of Richland with the Iconic Farm house in the middle of the down town!

On Saturday, I bit the clouds for this shot and was unable to pull it off. However thanks to the same trip and same route on Sunday and a much more clear sky and better lighting conditions I was able to pull off the shot I wanted to achieve. Here the Virginia Museum of Transportation's (with the Help of Norfolk Southern) fully restored to operational conditions, Norfolk And Western J class locomotive pulls the grade in Hurt, Virginia on the return to Greensboro, North Carolina. I loved how the older farm style house really bring enhances the scene. The Black and White format I believe makes this image really seem like it was taken out of the 1950's even though it was captured on Sunday April 24th, 2016

"Twas the night before the 611 trip and all through the yard, Not a creature was stiring…….Well…..Except Myself, Mark Ragan, and Jim Stanton. While everyone else was fast asleep and getting ready for Todays trip to Ashville, NC, I was out capturing the 611 making her final preparations for todays Trip. I went old school on this one and converted it to Black and White.

Got to spend some time away from the Railroad tracks in the beginning of December and got to celebrate that time and the Christmas season with my family in Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida. Here, the castle is all decorated in the Christmas fashion. The outlet waterways provide a little reflection!

While most have posted their photos of the Norfolk Southern and/or Amtrak's veteran's unit, I figured I would take today and post something different. Here is a US Military train transitioning through Kingman Canyon in Kingman, Arizona as it makes it's way westward. Thank you to all my Friends who served in the US Armed Forces and who are still currently serving. I thank you for all you do to keep us safe and to protect our Freedom.
