This year's calves are doing great! They've been on pasture for over a month now, and are eating grass just like momma.
All of our cows and sheep are born right here on our farm, and remain here until processing. This way we can make sure they get the best food possible - fresh pasture in the summer, and our own hay in the winter. It also reduces stress on the animals, leading to healthier meat!

We’re open 💚
After about 5 years, the Freedom Food Farm store is officially back open and today has honestly been so beautiful already. Seeing familiar faces walk through the doors again, meeting new people from surrounding towns, hearing stories from those who have supported the farm from the beginning, and welcoming people who have been patiently waiting for us to reopen… it’s been incredibly special.
There’s something really meaningful about seeing the farm store alive again and filled with community. The amount of love, excitement, and support we’ve felt today has meant more to us than we can fully put into words.
To everyone who came by today, shared the news, read the newsletter, shopped with us, or simply stopped in to say hello, thank you. Truly.
And if you haven’t made it yet, we’re still open today until 5pm and will be open again tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am–5pm. Come visit us ✨️

It was a big day for the crew and our cattle as we moved the herd from their winter home at the front of the farm to the lush, green pastures in the back. After spending the colder months grazing the front fields and finishing up the last of our hay, the timing for this transition couldn’t be better. There is nothing quite like the sight of the cows reaching that first bit of fresh, vibrant spring grass after a long New England winter.
This move is about much more than just a change of scenery; it’s a vital part of our commitment to regenerative agriculture. By intentionally rotating our cows through different pastures, we ensure that the land isn't overgrazed and that the soil has plenty of time to rest and recover. This natural cycle allows the grass to grow back stronger and deeper, which keeps the soil healthy, sequesters carbon, and ensures our animals are always grazing on the most nutrient-dense forage possible. It’s a win for the cows, the soil, and the quality of the food we provide to our community.

Greenhouse check-in! 🌿✨
It’s a sea of green in here, and things are moving fast. Swipe to see what’s fueling our excitement this week:
🥒 Cucumbers & Basil: Our slicing and pickling cucumbers are reaching for the sun, and the greenhouse is smelling incredible thanks to the fresh basil. Both are officially ready for you to take home!
🍅 Tomatoes: The plants are sturdy and soaking up the light, prepping for the big summer harvest ahead.
🧅 Onions: Check out that last photo, believe it or not, that "grass" is actually our onions! These tiny sprouts are getting strong in their seed trays before they head out into the fields to become the storage onions you’ll love later this year.
