Where: Portage County Randolph Fair!
Cost: $5 per person (children 3 and under free!)
Time: Doors to the H Building open at 6:30 p.m.
Snacks: Free popcorn and lemonade will be provided. Pretzels and slushies will be for sale!

🍀Nurse Needed for 4-H Camp Whitewood July 5-10!🍀
4-H Camp Whitewood, located in beautiful Windsor of Northeast OH, is looking for a licensed physician or registered nurse to serve as a Camp Nurse/Health Professional for the week of Sunday, July 5th-10th with Portage, Stark, & Summit County 4-H.

Each week of camp requires a licensed physician or registered nurse to be on-site for the full duration of the program. This professional helps most importantly with scheduled medication deliveries, but also with common bumps, bruises, and upset bellies that may arise during days of play.

Knowing that our nurses are often stepping away from a full or part-time position to serve at camp, we provide a stipend of $814 (equivalent to 2 camper registrations). If you have children or family members, who might be interested in coming to camp with you, we can exchange this stiped for 1-2 camper registrations.

We truly do have a great time here at camp! Come enjoy a week in our beautiful space. We will help to orient you to our Health Lodge, and your living quarters. We operate on Standing Orders reviewed annually, to spell out the basic treatments that can occur here at camp. If there is an ailment that cannot be dealt with at camp, or is outside of your scope of knowledge, notification to parents and EMS will be utlized. You will work closely with the county 4-H Directors group, and are welcome to be as involved in daily camp activities as you please, while staying available for our campers when needed via walkie talkie and other communication devices.

This summer, Ohio 4-H members have several exciting opportunities to showcase their animal knowledge and skills through educational contests and events at the Ohio State Fair.

Opportunities Include:
• Ohio 4-H Skillathons (Dates Vary)
• Outstanding Exhibitor (Breeding and Market) (Dates Vary)
• Ohio State Fair 4-H Livestock Judging Contest – July 26, 2026
• Ohio State Fair 4-H Poultry Judging Contest – July 11, 2026
• Ohio State Fair 4-H Avian Bowl Contest – July 11, 2026

These experiences help youth build industry knowledge, confidence, critical thinking, and teamwork skills while connecting with fellow exhibitors from across Ohio.

Registration for the Livestock Judging, Poultry Judging, and Avian Bowl contests requires an Extension professional’s signature to verify current 4-H membership standing.

History is happening on the National Mall this summer, and we want you to be part of it. Join us as a Youth Agricultural Ambassador during the 250th anniversary celebration of our nation at this year’s Great American State Fair. You’ll represent the next generation of agriculture by showcasing your animals and engaging directly with thousands of fairgoers from 10:00 AM–11:30 AM each day.

Portage County is hosting a Cloverbud Engineering Adventure Day!
When: June 27, starting at 10 a.m.
Where: Portage County Randolph Fair
We are inviting all Cloverbuds to join the fun! If you have a Cloverbud who did not register for a team this year, and would like to see what the Cloverbud Engineering Adventure day is all about, we will be offering opportunities for Cloverbuds to participate in the activities portion of the day and see projects from other Cloverbud teams.
🍀We welcome Cloverbuds from all counties, however, we are asking a $10 fee for all non-Portage County Cloverbuds! (This does not include Cloverbuds who have already registered for the Engineering Day Event with a team!)
