The Rathdrum Police Department will be conducting extra DUI enforcement patrols from June 28 through July 5 as we head into the Independence Day holiday week.

Our goal is simple: keep our roads safe by identifying and removing impaired drivers before they cause a tragedy.

If you plan to celebrate, please make arrangements for a sober ride home. Designate a driver, use a rideshare service, or call a friend or family member.

Drive sober. Arrive alive. Help us keep our community safe this Fourth of July.

Our officers wear many hats every day. One moment they are enforcing the law, the next they are providing crisis intervention, offering support to someone in need, helping resolve conflicts, directing traffic, assisting victims, or simply being a listening ear.

Policing is about more than making arrests. It is about serving our community in whatever role is needed at that moment. Thank you to our officers for their dedication and commitment to keeping our community safe.

Domestic violence can affect anyone, and everyone has the right to feel safe in their own home.

If you or someone you know is caught in a cycle of domestic violence, call 911 if there is an active emergency. If the threat is not immediate, contact Rathdrum Police Dispatch at (208) 687-0711.

Our officers can help connect victims with resources, support services, and safety planning to help them transition from victim to survivor. You are not alone, and help is available.

The Rathdrum Police Department is extremely grateful to have received a generous donation of $10,000 from the proceeds of the golf tournament that The Club at Praire Falls hosted, as well as additional contributions from community members in support of the event.

These funds will be placed in savings to help offset the future cost of purchasing and training a replacement K9 when K9 Liberty eventually retires down the road. Donations such as these help ensure the long-term success and sustainability of our K9 program.

We sincerely thank everyone who participated in the tournament and all those who donated to support our department and the community we proudly serve.

A Rathdrum Police officer observed a driver operating a vehicle in an unsafe manner and conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation, the driver displayed signs of impairment and performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. A breath sample showed a breath alcohol concentration of twice the legal limit.

Please drive sober and help keep our roads safe.
