Life is a school without boundaries, and every person you encounter is a teacher.Their words and actions have the power to shape your journey. I embrace listening and collaborating with everyone, as words can either uplift or distress, sadden or inspire. When I am in a room with Marie St Fleur, Ayanna Presley, Conan Harris, or Tina Cherry, their energy inspires me, providing me with unapologetic ideas and visions that fuel my activism. Are they just my friends? I don’t really care to know if a politician or a celebrity is my friend. It’s more than friends! They are my heroes or sheroes and my local educators!

Let's be honest: do we truly want a foreign force to kill all the young Haitians involved in gangs? Many of them have joined gangs because they have no other means of survival. Haiti is the only country where violence is used to resolve a crisis caused by poverty. It is the Haitian government's responsibility to create job opportunities. We need to offer teens financial incentives to turn in their guns and hire them to clean the streets and watch over their neighborhoods.

With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of our esteemed Brother, Rolard Georges. He lived a life of respect and integrity, embodying the values we all hold dear. Though he did not answer the final call, his memory will remain with us always. He lived respected and died regretted. Rest in peace, my Brother.•.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our beloved State Representatives Brandy Fluker-Oakley for her hard work to deliver most needed resources for the 12th Suffolk District and to two high Caliber Senators Liz Miranda and Lydia Edwards for their initiative in filing an amendment in the State budget requesting $100K for Mattapan Tech. Noting that Mattapan Tech has the unwavering support of Senator Nick Collins. I take immense pride in having these unapologetically strong Black women by our side in the fight for a better outcome for Black and Brown Youth. Their support for Mattapan Tech's mission is truly commendable. Regardless of the outcome, their efforts are invaluable, and I deeply appreciate their dedication. On behalf of the Black and Brown youth of Mattapan Tech, I am urging all members of the Senate to support amendment 625 filed by the Honorables Miranda and Edwards.
