Happy national Pig Day!

When pigs are raised on pasture, with access to natural forage and plenty of sunshine, their meat and fat are also richer in micronutrients, particularly fat-soluble vitamins E and D, as well as minerals like selenium (1). As monogastric animals, like humans, pigs make vitamin D in their skin and in their fat when they're exposed to sunlight, making pasture-raised pork particularly rich in vitamin D.

The dominant fat in pork, pasture-raised is monounsaturated fat - the same fat found in abundance in avocado and olive oil that gives these foods a "heart healthy" designation.

Nothing but pure pastured pork from start to finish.

In just 1 month we farrowed 9 gilts. Let me tell you something it’s was fun!!!!. Since we use no farrowing crates we do everything outside all natural!

As a pig farmer these are some of the most stressful days just making sure the weather permits and you do you dang best to keep all babies alive and healthy. We make sure Mom’s don’t have complications so we are there 24:7. We care about our girls and wanna make sure everything goes good .

That being said we have 55 on the ground strong and thriving! We had some losses due to still born or runts ! But overall it was a very successful farrowing month. Can’t wait for the next month!🐖🐖

When you follow the crowd you lose yourself, but when you follow your spirit, you lose the crowd. Do not fear the process of solitude. Embrace it and trust the process.

They are loving this cool weather.!!

Our first little chicks have hatched and are acclimating to their new homes. This is a great first step to growth.

We’ve finally got some roosters, and soon we’ll have some chicks on the way. We’re super excited to be growing our livestock, so that we can provide our community with quality farm fresh products.

These were our piglets just a couple months ago. Look how they’ve grown.

We’re so excited to bring our quality to the community. These hogs are truly pasture raised.

The important thing to remember is for our animals to have that free choice, to create a happy, healthy, stress free environment.

When an animal is chronically stressed, be it from their environment, how they’re treated, what they’re fed, you can taste that in the quality of the meat. So we make sure our pigs love their best lives.
