Some of my hold backs this go round!

Some of my does are getting older, so I'm starting to hold back a couple decent breeding prospects to broaden my breeding stock. These *might* become available down the line IF I get another good possible replacement from the moms, but not likely. I'd really like to work on the chin, heavy marked harli/magpies, and torts. And by golly, look at those ears!

Guess the baby count!

Let's play a little game πŸ˜… how many kits do you think this poor girl will have?

Typically, she has smaller litters of 5 to 7. Something tells me that's not gonna be the case this time! She is day 30 tomorrow, though, most of my tamuk does go today 32.

Get those bets in now!

Bunch of Tamuk Bucks ready to hop!

Some of these guys are HUGE for their age, just shy of 10 weeks old. All does are spoken for in this group.

REW bucks x2, Blue Magpie, and a chocolate sallander from Zeta, chocolate magpie x Foxtrot, REW. Line bred litter.

Black Magpie and torted? Sallander (probably not correct term, Color genetics friends, help!) from Echo, REW x Indigo, Self blue. Unrelated litter.

Only 1 new TAMUK-C litter born, and girls go fast. Those who want pairs and trios, these may be some good boys to hold on to!

Crappy photos, doing evaluations today with only the tablet πŸ˜…

Guess who decided to be a mom and who didn't? Bet you can't guess correctly!

Red doe Nylah who was previously one of my best does killed one of her 4, other 3 are unfed. Kiva decided she did want her kits, and although she had one die, she built a small nest after 2 days. The 13 in Sakora's litter are small but strong.

This is why I wait to transfer until I can tell who is who. If I had transferred the 4 from Nylah to Kiva immediately, or vice versa, the wrong doe would be at fault for the deaths. This is especially important for any breeders I'm considering to remove from the herd.

So Kiva is down to 3 of hers, but took the 3 unfed remaining from Nylah, plus 4 lilacs from Sakora to even out to 2 litters. She immediately hopped in to feed them all when I added the foster babies. Nylah will get 1 last shot which will be her 3rd strike here, she will be part of the next breeding group in a few weeks if we aren't done for the summer (we may be 😬)

HOT WEEKEND! πŸ”₯ πŸ₯΅

Temp wise anyway. 100 Friday, 95 Saturday, 93 yesterday. Back into the 80s/low 90s for the week thankfully!

Sakora had 13 in her first time litter! 1 DOA but all others alive and well πŸ’• looks to be a couple solid lilacs in there! 🀞

Nylah had her smallest litter to date of 6, 4 live and 2 DOA. Typically she does 9-11 per litter, and with this wide swinging temps, Ill give her some credit. She's not too old or overbred for her numbers to start declining so soon, so she'll get another shot after this litter.

Kiva had 8, some on the wire, none cleaned. Some have passed already due to her not caring for them, so I think we are down to 4. This is the 2nd or 3rd time with this, so she will be a cull.

Bee had 6, all DOA on the wire with her chilling in the empty nest box of hay like theres nothing wrong. Im not sure what happened here, as all were squishy and gross like they died in utero a couple days ago. She wasn't even acting pregnant, but this is her 3rd or 4th shot, so she will be a cull.

Dora with Rawhide Ranch & Rabbitry bred to Phirre, our main Silver Fox herd buck had a litter this weekend too! Go checkout Rawhide's page to see how that litter does!

So far, NOT good with Champagne D'argents and not worth the hassle of poor temperaments and poor mothering, poor size/growth. 4/10, so far do not recommend. Maybe its genetics, maybe why the breed is still fairly hard to come by.

The Ishe Clowder is set to be neutered!

This is the deposit amount to hold the appointment for the 4 little boys, the rest to be paid when they go in for their βœ‚οΈ surgeries, vaccines, and microchips! After they are all healed up, they will be ready for new homes πŸ’•

Feral Cat Coalition is an amazing program that offers free TNR surgeries, medical care and more to feral colony cats. They also offer discounted services through their Adoptables program, which is super helpful for people like me who foster many cats and kittens who pay for all their medical out of pocket. I do not work with a rescue, I am not a rescue, so absolutely everything these kittens need is out of pocket. Last year, I fostered and found homes for 23? kittens and cats. I cant even remember there were so many. Without FCC, there's no way that would be remotely possible for me. They offer discounted services for owned cats as well, reach out to them if you need kitty services!

Please enjoy the following kitten Romp footage πŸ˜†

Soren is a huge cuddle bug and is highly food motivated. He's been doing limp noodle cuddle sessions like baby Cheeko used to. For those of you who have met Cheekotah, he's my sweetest bottle baby foster fail, and I think Soren will be just like him. Inigo is next most cuddly, so much like my cat Alice that passed a few years back its not even funny. Alice was sweet, clumsy, and Accident prone, just like you see Inigo display by running into the crate door (yes hes fine🀣) The Oranges are showing typical orange behavior, but still sweet kittens when the romp is done. These guys are getting big too! Little Soren I think will stay really small like Mouse, Inigo will be big, Helian and Eos will be about Cheeko size.

Yes, my house is littered with fur tufts and rabbit paws. SOME KITTY (Lyra) stole the entire bag of dried feet and ears, ripped it to shreds and dispersed them around the house and thinks they are the GREATEST toys ever. Kittens also think they are fun to play with, and I'm not mad

Kitten Name Reveal!

Totally used AI to pick some good ones! All these boys are so very sweet and playful.

Black boy kitten is Inigo. Ai suggrsted 3 times! Then a third one, apparently getting Princess Bride and Alice in Wonderland together. "Feels like a dueling rabbit in a waistcoat. "You stole my tarts. Prepare to rhyme." I was sold 🀣

Tabby boy is Soren. According to Ai, a Danish term meaning "stern", but also many TV characters. I just really liked the name

Helian is the fluffy orange boy, Greek for "of the sun". What better for an orange?

Eos is the other orange boy! Blazing dawn aka Soren of the sun.

Aka the I.S.H.E. Clowder πŸ’•
