Two rounds of strong/severe thunderstorms are expected today. The first round will move through the region this morning, bringing a chance for large hail and strong winds. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for several counties through 11AM.

A second round of thunderstorms is expected beginning around mid to late afternoon Saturday and continuing through the evening. Hail and wind will be the main concerns. An isolated tornado cannot be entirely ruled out for areas located in the Enhanced Risk area (orange).

This December Helping Hand for Animals officially marks its 25th year of not only rescuing dogs and cats out of kill shelters, but also assisting pet owners keep their pets by covering the cost of basic vet care, raising funds for extended vet care, sending food to those who need a hand up.
