The ROV team completed thier final challenge. They had to search for and retrieve an object from underwater. They now have the skills to pilot, inspect, and retrieve with the DTG3 Robotic Drone and most importantly they worked as a team and took ownership of the process. Thanks to Redhat and Deep Trekker for thier sponsorship and to YM4C for partnering with Teach One Tech Inc to offer ROV Pilot Certification training. Underwater drones are often used to make work easier for divers and for safety reasons. Situations like this are common in rivers, pipelines and locks. But ROVs can also be used for less obvious assets. These are locations you never think about, or where you didn't know the possibilities! Convert from Dutch to English to read the article

These students are amazing! They started off with a conference call with Brayden Wray from Deep Trekker Inc, from Kitchener Canada, where he presented about the many industries that utilize underwater robotics. Applications and problem solvers using this tech include fisheries, infrastructure inspection, marine science, the military, and more. They then worked as a team to meet a team challenge to inspect the dock, find the rope under water, and, by using the piloting skills and instrument navigation, collect the three messages submerged underwater. THEY WERE SUCCESSFUL!!! The final challenge will be search and retrievial!
