Simple Solutions by Design

Necessity is the mother of invention... true statement. Needed a bed for a SMALL guest room that doubles as a couch to free up floor space when not in use... From my head, to paper, followed by a LOT of sanding, filling, priming, painting... et, voila - it worked! Opens to a king size bed - ready for guests...

This weekend's project - on to the master (finally). After trying a dozen shades of grey, I finally found the perfect one! Upcycled 2 dirt cheap Ikea cabinets (thank you Craigslist!) and a shelf "bridge" to tie it all together, then decided my bed needed a updo. I don't like bed frames (I like my box spring on the floor), so I built what I'm calling a bed wrap to cover the box spring and make it look like a platform bed... cheap 'n easy, that's me ;) - now to add "art" (my version of) and splashes of color... stay tuned!

A rainy day project - Floating TV cabinet with hinged doors - just needs another coat of paint and hardware, et voila!

Dining room transformation... A little paint and a beautiful chandelier casting designs on the walls transform this room from drab to fab.

SIMPLE SOLUTIONS FOR A BORING BATHROOM

No Need to hide this room behind a closed door any more (unless it's in use, that is!)

A little paint goes a long way in transforming an outdated and rather bland bathroom into a crisp, fresh and updated space! The old wood cabinets were dreary and darkened the room. By painting them bright white and adding bronzed hardware, we opened up the space.

We added a touch of elegance by coordinating accessories; the silver shower curtain, mat, towels and lamp, along with a floor vase, accent the crisp white cabinets beautifully, and keep the space bright and airy.

The only thing left to do is to build a wood frame around the mirror and paint it white!
