On September 23, Duke Raleigh invites members of the community, as well as health care providers, to "Living Well, Leaving Well: A Community Dialogue on Palliative Care with Dr. Delani Mann". This event is designed to empower our community — especially those aged 45 and older — with knowledge, resources, and a safe space to explore palliative care. On September 11, Duke Raleigh pauses to remember the lives lost, the courage shown, and the resilience that rose from one of our nation’s darkest days. It is a time to reflect on the profound impact of that tragedy, and to pay tribute to the victims, the heroes, and all those forever changed.
We carry forward the legacy of those we lost and honor the past by making a difference in the present.

Duke Raleigh is proud to celebrate Independence Day. The freedom that it represents for our nation extends to the ways our organization is able to provide fair and equitable access to quality healthcare to patients and communities from all walks of life. It also allows us the freedom to live out our commitment to celebrate the diverse strengths and contributions of our team members across the health system.
As we observe this special holiday with family and friends, let us do so with a sense of unity and pride, and to reflect on how the freedoms we enjoy can inspire us all to greatness in how we care for our patients, their loved ones, and each other. Happy Independence Day – and thank you for all that you do!

We are dedicated to fostering a supportive space where our LGBTQ+ colleagues, students, patients, and community members are greeted with kindness and compassion.
We take pride in each other this month - and every month. 🌈

Friday, June 6, is National Gun Violence Awareness Day, an observance designed to honor victims and survivors of gun violence and to raise awareness about gun safety. The Wear Orange Day initiative began in 2015, by friends commemorating the life of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton who was killed by gunfire on a Chicago playground. They chose to wear orange because it is the color hunters wear in the woods to protect themselves and others.
Duke Health is one of many organizations across the country working to end gun violence. To show our support, Duke Raleigh team members are participating in Wear Orange Day on June 6. Join Duke Raleigh in this journey to end gun violence by wearing orange and posting your photos with the hashtag !
