We finally made it out to Botiwalla by Chai Pani - Raleigh at Raleigh Iron Works, and this one was full of flavor.

From crispy Masala Smashed Potatoes and Matchstick Okra Fries to Green Mango Chaat and a Chicken Tikka Roll wrapped in hot buttered naan, this is the kind of spot where you definitely want to order a few things and share.

And yes, even if you think you don’t like okra, these fries might change your mind.

Looks like Durham is about to get a little hotter.

Haven Hot Chicken, a Connecticut-born hot chicken spot known for its crispy, crunchy, juicy, spicy chicken, is opening its first North Carolina location this October at 706 Ninth Street in Durham.

The spot is being brought here by brothers John and Tim Enterline of The Enterline Group, who tried Haven in Connecticut and decided the Triangle needed a taste of it too. And yes, that includes THE Sandwich, which was named Food Network’s Best Bite in Town Grand Champion.

The Durham location will also get its own custom mural from artist Amanda “Peep” Bivins, designed specifically with the local community in mind.

Hot chicken, Ninth Street, and a little Durham flavor on the walls? We’re keeping an eye on this one.

Spent today exploring more great spots around the Triangle.

Started the day with our first visit to Carolina Tiger Rescue —such an incredible experience getting up close (safely!) with these amazing animals and learning their stories. Truly inspiring work they’re doing there. 🐯

After that, we made our way to The Plant for a perfect Sunday combo:
🍹 Drinks at Fair Game Beverage Company & Starrlight Mead
🌮 Lunch at Ta Contento

More adventures coming soon… 👀
Next up: Canes hockey! 🏒

Today is World Gin Day 🍸

A global celebration of gin—from a classic gin and tonic to martinis, gimlets, and everything in between. It’s a day that basically exists to justify a good pour and a little appreciation for one of the most versatile spirits out there.

And in that spirit, it felt like a good time to revisit a memorable NC gin moment from last year.

Last June, we were invited to Durham’s Conniption Bar & Lounge - Formerly Co**se Reviver Cocktail Bar to celebrate the kick-off of Conniption’s World Gin Month. It was part of their broader cocktail lounge experience and a great snapshot of how Durham’s spirits scene continues to evolve.
