Performative Christianity often becomes the standard by which we assess someone’s faith. We tend to look at the visible fruit—someone’s gifts, talents, platform, or ability to speak—and assume that reflects the depth of their faith.

But the truer evidence of faith is often found in the quieter places: how someone loves their spouse, how they show up for their children, how they live when no one is watching.

If I’m honest, I’ve been wrapped up in performing most of my life. Even writing this feels performative in a way. But it’s also just a real sentiment I’m wrestling with right now…
