✨Senior Highlight✨Out next senior highlight is Gabby Manriquez!
Thank you to everyone who has stuck with me throughout my dance journey! I’ve been at RSB since I was six and have stayed ever since. RSB to me is so much more than studios and friends, but a home and a family. The RSB community is something that has been a part of my life for so long. The community has helped me through so many things, from your kindness, joy, and smiles from my teachers to my little friends. I especially want to thank my teachers for helping me to grow and for the advice they have given me, dance and non dance related and encouraging me to do my best and to love what I do. I would not be the dancer or person I am without them. I will miss everyone so much, and I’m proud to call myself a RSB/ RDT alumni.
A small piece of advice, be kind and laugh with everyone, no matter how mature or young. Encourage the younger dancers and making them and each other smile

✨Senior Highlight✨Our next senior highlight is Eliza May!
Hey, I’m Eliza May and I will be attending UNC Chapel Hill this fall! I have been dancing at RSB since I was 4 years old and have been in RDT for the past five years. Having grown up here, I am so grateful for all the lessons, opportunities, memories, and friends I have had during my time here. Thank you so much to all my teachers who believed in me, challenged me, and cheered for me. They have all truly made my dance journey an incredible experience.
Some advice I would like to share with younger dancers is to always believe in yourself. You are capable of so much more than you think, never let anyone make you think otherwise. Your dancing is for you, so enjoy it. Listen to your body and please never push through pain. The teachers are always here for you and want you to succeed. RSB is a family so remember to cheer for everyone, be kind, and believe in yourself. Don’t forget to have fun and, as always, don’t forget to smile!

✨Senior Highlight✨We’re thrilled to spotlight our graduating seniors at the Raleigh School of Ballet. First to take the stage in our series is the amazing Tova Feldman!
Thank you to all my teachers who supported me in my 14 year ballet journey. I’ve truly enjoyed my time at RSB/RDT and being part of this community. Ballet allowed me to create lifelong friendships, unforgettable experiences, and treasured moments. I would not be where I am today without RSB and RDT.
To the next generation of dancers, these are two pieces of advice I wish I could give my younger self.
First, advocate for yourself. Whether it’s an injury, a costume you’re uncomfortable in, or disappointing results in casting, advocate for yourself. The teachers want to support you in any way they can, and even though they wish they could, they cannot read our minds. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it is a symbol of trusting your instincts. Don’t be afraid to speak up about anything, even in class or rehearsals.
Second, be friends and talk to everyone! Since this community is so small, you have the chance to ask older dancers questions about high school life or mentor younger dancers who have just begun their RDT journey. Do not be intimidated to reach out and talk to someone. Especially as an older dancer, I love mentoring the junior company members and apprentices. I wish I had reached out to more older dancers when I was younger.
Next year, I will be studying at Washington University in St. Louis in the college of arts and sciences.
