So far this year, SAFEchild has seen a 21% increase in children needing our help and support. At the same time, reductions in government funding are creating new challenges for organizations like ours.
Every gift made before June 30 helps ensure SAFEchild can continue to be a safe place for children and families when they need it most.

We are so thankful to be at 58% of our goal to raise $500,000 by June 30th. But with less than 3 weeks to go, we aren't there yet! Support us here: https://safechildnc.org/donate/

Why are we fundraising now? In just the past 5 months, nearly 200 children have come through SAFEchild's doors. These children received medical evaluations, forensic interviews and resources for hope and healing. All at no cost to them.

That's why we set this goal. SAFEchild needs your help to continue to show up for our community's most vulnerable and serve as a safe place for kids. Thanks to a generous challenge from our partners at the 4Others Foundation, they will match every gift made by the end of this month dollar-for-dollar, up to $35,000.

Every child deserves one SAFE place. Help us be that place!

SAFEchild Executive Director, Rebekah Paredes and SAFEchild Advocacy Center Director, Nakisha Biglow, were excited to recently attend the 3rd Annual Joint Symposium on Child Abuse & Neglect for the Carolinas. This conference provided training for Children’s Advocacy Centers (CAC) and multidisciplinary team professionals who respond to child abuse cases like SAFEchild.

The training focused on strengthening collaboration and enhancing the investigation, assessment, treatment, and prosecution of child maltreatment cases. We love learning the best ways to serve the children and families who need us in our community! 💙🦀🛟

June is Internet Safety Month!
Meet Angie, one of SAFEchild’s forensic interviewers. She shares that some of the most common issues kids face online aren’t always what parents expect. Things like private messaging with strangers, pressure to share photos and misunderstandings about what’s truly “private” online.

Staying educated and informed is one of the best ways we can protect and support our kids in today’s digital world. Share this video with another parent! More insights from Angie coming soon!

The platforms mentioned are examples from cases SAFEchild has encountered. Online exploitation can occur through any gaming, social media, messaging, or communication platform used by children and teens.

We're grateful that 55% of our goal has already been secured, and thanks to a generous challenge from the 4Others Foundation, every gift made through June 30 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by our partner, the 4Others Foundation, up to $35,000.
