Melissa will go down as one of the strongest hurricanes on record in the Atlantic.

Its pressure is down to 892 mb ahead of landfall. That's the third-lowest pressure of any Atlantic hurricane on record.

Lower pressure = stronger wind. Maximum wind near the eye is 185 mph.

And landfall is not far off...just horrible.

Hurricane Hunters had to abort their mission AGAIN today. I was watching as they had to circle around the eye. My goodness...Melissa is BRUTAL.
