The time has come

Nissan has discontinued the R35 GT-R in Japan, marking the end of the iconic sports car. Introduced in 2007, it became Nissan’s most powerful performance model, known for its 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine, all-wheel drive and advanced technology.

Over the years, the R35 has been updated several times, in 2010, 2016 and 2023. However, stricter safety and emissions regulations have made it harder to sell. Production will cease in Australia in 2021, Europe in 2022 and North America in 2024, with Japan being the last market to close orders.

Many believe that the new GT-R, likely called the R36, could arrive around 2028 with a power plant. While the future is unclear, the R35 will always be remembered as the iconic sports car.
