‼️ PSA TO ALL BUSINESSES ‼️

In the last few weeks, we have had many of our clients reach out to us about messages they are receiving via Facebook Messenger claiming to be from Facebook stating that their pages were in violation of Facebook Community standards and that they were scheduled for permanent deletion. There is also a hyperlink within the message where they state you can "Request for Review".

The message is intended to instill fear and create panic in hopes that someone will click that hyperlink because obviously, no business wants their page to be deleted. However, it's a complete scam. Once that hyperlink is clicked, those on the other end can now take control of your business page and unfortunately, that will begin a nightmare of events for the business that just became this scammer's latest victim.

Below is just one example of the many messages we saw come across our client's pages this morning.

If your business receives a message, email, or phone call that looks like this, report the profile to Facebook as a scam, mark the message as spam, or delete it completely. You can also report phishing profiles, emails, and callers to [email protected] Speak with your social media team and ensure that everyone is aware of how Facebook will actually communicate with you.

Facebook will never reach out to you via messenger in the way that this scammer did. If there ever was an issue, they would reach out to you through a platform notification or by email.

Time really does fly by with this one! Today was the last day for Kaley, our second intern. This was her third summer working with us and never fails to breakthrough new barriers with her organic social media marketing skills! Her dedication to growing DMG's socials has truly been a gift throughout the office!
