Great news for homebuyers: We’re shifting out of a seller’s market, so asking a seller to pay part of your closing costs (also called seller concessions) is once again possible. Seller concessions could also cover lender fees, discount points to buy down your rate, appraisals, and any other expenses, except for your down payment.

VA, FHA, and USDA loans, as well as some conventional loans, can lower your down payment—for those who qualify—to anywhere between 0 to 3.5%. At Academy Mortgage, we have *10 different loan programs* that require no or low down payment. Ask me for details!

Generally, credit scores that are 700+ are considered good, and scores between 750-800 are considered excellent. Scores of 550-580 or below are considered poor, but there are strategies to bring your score up if you want to get ready for homeownership.
