After losing her mom at 17, Annie found a meaningful way to keep her memory close: creating homes that help other families build memories of their own.

From renovating her first home and being featured on Houzz to designing her own semi-custom home in Raleigh, Annie’s passion for thoughtful, functional design continued to grow. What started as helping a friend design an investment property in 2019 soon became Spotted Interior Design.

Today, as a business owner, mom, and dog mom, Annie brings a deeply personal perspective to every project. She believes great design isn’t just about how a space looks. It’s about how it supports your life, reflects your story, and helps you feel at home.

For the guest bath, we focused on smart storage solutions with the potential for a medicine cabinet mirror and shelving above the toilet to maximize space without sacrificing style.

In the primary bath, every selection was made with intention. From carefully planned outlet placements within the vanity tower to custom niches, a dedicated shaving niche, a handheld sprayer, and a sophisticated gray vanity, this space was designed around the homeowners’ lifestyle and preferences.

Annie recently partnered with a developer and builder on thoughtful updates for a model home in a new townhome community in Chapel Hill through Spotted Interior Design’s Designer for a Day service.

This focused 3-hour session is designed to bring a fresh perspective, elevated design direction, and marketable improvements without the commitment of full-service design.

After walking the home, taking photos, reviewing finishes, and identifying opportunities for improvement, Annie created a full recommendation report complete with updated selections, styling suggestions, sustainability-focused ideas, lighting recommendations, storage solutions, and a new kitchen rendering designed to elevate the overall experience of the space.

The project explored ways to make the home feel more custom, memorable, and functional for future buyers through details like Café appliances, an induction range, upgraded finishes, and thoughtful design moments that help a property stand out in today’s market.
