Planning a summer road trip?
Stock Your Vehicle!!!
Even a well-maintained vehicle can break down, so it’s recommended to put together an emergency roadside kit to carry with you. A cell phone tops the list of emergency kit contents since it allows you to call for help when and where you need it. Recommended emergency roadside kit contents include:
-Cell phone and charger
-First aid kit, including tourniquet
-Flashlight
-Flares and a white flag
-Jumper cables
-Tire pressure gauge
-Jack (and ground mat) for changing a tire
-Work gloves and a change of clothes
-Basic repair tools and some duct tape (for temporarily repairing a hose leak)
-Water and paper towels for cleaning up
-Nonperishable food, drinking water, and medicines
-Extra windshield washer fluid
-Paper Maps
-Emergency blankets, towels and coats

Friday afternoon we attended a luncheon at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee for the American Heart Association as Compass was a sponsor this year. We also were celebrating our boss’s daughter who was recognized by the association for the large amount of money she raised for this association. It was a lovely luncheon and very enlightening. ❤️

The greatest gift you can give her this Mother's Day is the peace of mind in knowing that her children are protected in the event of a disaster. Do you have adequate insurance in place?

Commercial insurance protects businesses, employees, and assets against risks associated with operating a company, such as property damage, liability claims, and employee injuries. It differs from personal insurance by offering higher coverage limits tailored to business operations rather than individual needs, often including specialized coverage like workers’ compensation or commercial auto.
Key Commercial Insurance Tips to consider:
Shop and Bundle: Compare policies from multiple providers annually to ensure competitive rates. Bundle policies, such as commercial auto and property, to receive discounts.
Customize Coverage: Ensure your policy is scalable, covering your current needs—such as new equipment, inventory, or employees—without paying for unnecessary extras.
Raise Your Deductible: Opt for a higher deductible to lower your premium payments, provided you have the cash flow to cover the out-of-pocket costs in a claim.
Review Cybersecurity: Ensure your policy includes coverage for cyber criminals, data theft, and necessary remedial services.
Keep Records: Document property values with receipts, appraisals, or bills of sale to avoid issues during claims.
Understand Business Interruption: Ensure you have coverage for lost income if you are forced to close due to a covered claim.
Use an Independent Agent: Utilize an experienced, licensed independent agent who can offer policies from multiple companies rather than just one.

With the storms now moving through Wisconsin during this time of year, tornadoes are also imminent. Please take precautions to be safe during a tornado warning. Here are some tips:
Be aware of your surroundings prior to an emergency — determine a safe location.
The safest place to be is underground, or as low to the ground as possible, and away from all windows. If you do not have a basement, go to an interior hallway or room on the lowest floor without windows. Put as many walls between you and the outside as possible. Also make sure there are no windows or glass doors in your safe place and keep this place uncluttered.
If you are in a multi-story building, pick a place in a hallway in the center of the building. You may not have enough time to go to the lowest floor. Center hallways are often structurally the most reinforced part of a building.
Stay in your safe place until the tornado watch or warning has ended.
