Join us Tuesday, May 19 from 6-7pm for the Racine Blues Society's Neighborhood Blues Gathering! Drummer and educator Tim Wilsey will lead a one‑hour session tracing how Delta Blues traditions moved north during the early 20th century. The session blends clear historical explanation with live demonstration, join us for an enriching musical experience!

The Racine Public Library building and Bookmobile will be closed on Friday, May 15. We will reopen for our normal hours on Saturday, May 16.

Bookmobile Schedule Changing May 16

Thank you, Corey and Sabrina! Our Bookmobile Supervisor (Corey) is retiring, and our Bookmobile Assistant (Sabrina) is leaving for other opportunities. We thank them both for their years of dedication to the community and the Bookmobile.

While we hire new teammates, the Bookmobile will be on a limited schedule. This schedule is effective Saturday, May 16. We plan to revisit this schedule at the end of June. To see our most up-to-date version of the schedule, keep an eye on RacineLibrary.info/hours.

🎤 The contest: Students write and perform an original song or rap about their favorite book from this school year for the chance to win a $1,000 Bookshop gift card for their school or library and a $75 gift card for themselves.

To serve even more kids, we’re expanding the submission window to one full week (May 1-8), and we will be accepting entries on our website in addition to here on Instagram.

For the past two years, the Racine Public Library has been fortunate enough to be the library selected by our patron, LB, who won Halle Adelman’s “Book Song Challenge.” The submission window is open May 1-8, and we wanted to share this opportunity with our community. Finished the book discussion for "Just Like Home" by Sarah Gailey. Made our own haunted village for Seasonal Screams. We're reading "Sun Down Motel" by Simone St. James for our next session on May 27th.
