Two months since we opened our doors. 💚

These first two months have been about one thing: welcoming community in and letting CRECE become what it was always meant to be, a space for everyone.

Children creating and playing. 🎨
Neighbors gathering in the living room.
Sharing meals, conversations, and quiet moments.
Finding connection in the CRECE circle, even finding a seat by the window. 💛

And we were honored to receive a special welcome from Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as we began this new chapter.

Every photo tells a little piece of the story.

CRECE means to grow, and we’re growing together. 🌱

Built by community. For community.

Dos meses desde que abrimos nuestras puertas. 💚

CRECE significa crecer , y estamos creciendo juntos. 🌱

Construido por la comunidad. Para la comunidad.

Last Tuesday, we had the honor of welcoming Admin. for Children's Services Commissioner Rebecca Gaston to CRECE. 💚💚

Her visit was an opportunity to listen directly to community members about something we believe deeply in: the importance of third spaces and the power of community-designed spaces.

At CRECE, we know that a space can be so much more than a building. It can be a place to gather, connect, learn, create, support one another, and feel a true sense of belonging. Our community has helped shape CRECE from the very beginning; and their voices continue to guide what this space becomes.

Thank you, Commissioner Gaston, for spending time with our community, listening, asking questions, and recognizing the importance of creating spaces built by community, for community.

This is what community-centered work looks like. 🌱

✨ A space designed with community in mind. ✨
✨ Un espacio diseñado pensando en nuestra comunidad. ✨

Every corner of CRECE was created with a purpose — and to feel like a place where families can truly feel at home.

⭕ Our circle — one of the most multifunctional spaces at CRECE. It can become a gathering space, a stage for performances and activities, or an accessible space for community members with mobility needs. The ramp was intentionally designed to make the space welcoming and accessible to all.

📚 Our family library — an inviting place where children and families can read, explore, learn, and spend time together.

🛋️ Our cozy living room — a welcoming space to sit, connect, have a conversation, or simply feel at home.

🍳 Our kitchen — a space for cooking, learning, sharing meals, and bringing people together.

These spaces may look different, but they all have one thing in common: they were designed around the needs, ideas, and dreams of our community.

And we’re just getting started. 🌱
Soon, we’ll begin the next phase of our work downstairs, creating even more space for families, programs, resources, and community connection.

Y apenas estamos comenzando. 🌱
Pronto comenzaremo
