Class dismissed… for old times’ sake. 💚🎓✨

They walked out expecting an ordinary dismissal… and found the people who had been there since the very beginning waiting outside. 💚✨

Some things never change. Congratulations, Class of 2026. 🎓

Today, we brought it full circle. 💚🎓

From holding their hand on the first day of school to waiting outside to pick them up on one of their last. Our seniors may have grown up, but for one afternoon, they were reminded that they’ll always be someone’s little kid.

Thank you to all of the families who helped keep the secret and made this surprise so special. 🥹✨

What a special day! 🌎💚 Members of Green Club, AP Environmental Science, AP Biology, SJU Aquatic Ecology, and Science NHS (Maspeth High School Science NHS) from Maspeth High School explored sustainability and our impact on the world at the Youth Climate Summit on Governors Island. Surrounded by views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, students connected climate action with hope, community, and the power of collective change.

A huge thank you to Office of Energy & Sustainability - NYC Public Schools, NYC Water, and Passive House For Everyone! for making this experience possible. Our students impressed us, as always, and Mr. Bell, Ms. Jawaid, and Mr. Powell were proud to witness their curiosity and leadership in action. Inspired and excited for our upcoming combined SciFest and Water Climate Action Day! 🌱♻️💧🌍

In an effort to inspire our 11th graders, Diana Piktel (a Maspeth High School alum, Class of 2017) came to discuss her personal and educational background, pathways to public relations, and specific details of her career, which includes traveling to beautiful places around the world, such as the Maldives!
