Simply because I haven’t done a in a hot minute. I wanted steak tacos originally but I didn’t have any tortillas on hand and I didn’t feel like making them.

So I went with making sopes instead.

(Yes, I made the sopes by hand. No, it’s not the same as making a tortilla. Stay focused here.)

Anyway. I stopped just short of making refried beans for them because I was hungry af. I did, however, make a dope ass elote salad type situation that I’m kinda mad I didn’t make more of.

I felt like making pastelon for Sunday .
So I did.

The rest just all…came together. It was good, too.

So. I was outside last night, on a boat, watching folks be happy to graduate and stuff.
It was lovely.

There was this one moment when we passed the Statue of Liberty and everyone crowded around to take pictures and video.

Whenever I see the Statue in person, I always feel a little…emotional. This time, when I saw it, it made me sad. Sad for our country as a whole.

Iono. I be talking a lot of s**t about the orange troglodyte or whatever but I remember learning about the Statue of Liberty in school. And while I know that for many of my ancestors, this promise wasn’t necessarily true for them - the idea of freedom at least had some semblance of truth to it at some point. Was hard fought for.

And now…well. You can fill in the rest.

Anyway. I digress a little. But I went outside. That’s what counts right now.

In other news that’s not the general corruption of the gubment or whatever… 🙄

Iono why y’all let me loose in the people dem’s Asian market. Y’all HAD to know that I was gonna turn that Hmart every which way but loose 🫠

At least I got the stuff to be able to make some boss jjajangmyeon, though...so winner winner chicken dinner?
