We are proud to have partnered with DESC and the project team to help bring this important supportive housing community to life. Birch Grove provides 120 safe, stable homes along with on-site services designed to support residents on their path to housing stability and well-being.

Projects like this demonstrate the impact that thoughtful design, strong partnerships, and a shared commitment to community can have in addressing the region's housing needs. We are honored to have played a role in creating a place where individuals can find not just housing, but a foundation for a brighter future.

Congratulations to Gabriel Cabello, the recipient of the 2026 Absher Pathways Scholarship in honor of Stephanie Caldwell!

Gabriel is a senior at Omak High School and is participating in Running Start through Wenatchee Valley College--already building a strong foundation for his future. With a passion for the construction industry and a commitment to continuing his education, he embodies the leadership, determination, and potential that this scholarship was created to support.

As temperatures rise, so does the risk of heat-related illness. Heat stress can occur both outdoors and indoors and may lead to serious conditions such as heat exhaustion, heat stroke, dizziness, confusion, and fatigue.

Protect yourself and your coworkers by following the fundamentals of heat illness prevention: 💧 Drink water frequently, 🛑 take rest breaks, and 🌳 seek shade or cooler environments when possible.

Use the buddy system to watch for signs of heat illness, adjust work activities during the hottest parts of the day, and know how to respond in an emergency. Awareness, preparation, and early action can make all the difference.

Yesterday, we joined Tacoma Water, DLR Group, project partners, and community leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Tacoma Water Operations Facility.

Designed to support Tacoma Water's mission for decades to come, this facility will provide a modern, flexible workspace that empowers employees to collaborate, innovate, and respond efficiently to the needs of the community. The new operations center will enhance day-to-day functionality while creating an environment that can adapt to future growth and evolving service demands. We are excited to get started!

Congratulations to Wes Furste on earning his Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Professional certification, Thomas Funston on achieving his Associate DBIA designation, and Joshua Boyd on becoming a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals!

These accomplishments reflect their dedication to professional growth, industry excellence, and continuous improvement in their respective fields. Whether advancing design-build expertise or elevating safety leadership, each certification represents a commitment to delivering exceptional results for our clients, partners, and teams.

This past Saturday, Absher team members were proud to volunteer for Rebuilding Together Day, joining community partners and volunteers to help make critical home repairs for local homeowners.

From painting and landscaping to repairs and improvements, the day was about more than maintaining homes—it was about helping neighbors live safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

A special thank you to Volunteer Coordinator Anna-Lisa Mills for organizing Absher’s participation and to House Captain Josh Ferrier-Hansen for leading the project and helping make the day a success.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back alongside so many dedicated volunteers and organizations working to strengthen our communities. Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and made a difference!
