2025-26 is a year for the ERHS history books! Congratulations to sophomore drone operations student Kaden Magnus who became the first Puyallup School District student to earn their Federal Aviation Administration Part 107 drone pilot license while still a student in the class!

Kaden passed his test administered at Thun Field on his first attempt just a few days after his 16th birthday; the FAA requires candidates to be 16 or older. Students in ER’s year-long drone class take a mock Part 107 exam but are not required to take the official FAA exam. Earning the drone pilot license allows Kaden to work commercially, something he plans to start doing over the summer. Way to go, Kaden! πŸŽ‰

We hope all our Jags have a safe and wonderful summer, and we look forward to making 2026-27 another great school year! See you in the Jungle! πŸ†

Congratulations to senior Liz Silveria for being the first ERHS student in school history to pass the Adobe Animator Professional Certification Exam with less than 25 minutes remaining in the final video production class of her senior year! The exam is not a requirement for the class but she chose to take on the challenge to improve her understanding of professional animation software. In class, Liz made an animated music video that was a finalist for top honors at the PSD-wide Clock Tower Film Festival in March. She also made a film that won Pierce County’s environmental film fest in May. Liz plans to attend Pierce College in the fall. Way to go, Liz! πŸ†πŸŽ‰

Last Wednesday, 24 students were inducted to the ERHS chapter of the National American Sign Language Honor Society, and 8 students were recognized as Returning Members. Additionally, 13 students earned ASLHS awards for completing community service benefitting the Deaf community.

Of the many students who study American Sign Language each year, these inductees stand out for their excellence, enthusiasm, and commitment to the signing community. ERHS is proud to recognize these students' high academic achievement in ASL studies, and across all courses. Go Jags! πŸ†πŸ€Ÿ

What a great first year for our Air Force Junior ROTC program. They had their banquet tonight and celebrated their many accomplishments. Including five seniors heading off to the Armed Forces after graduation. Great job Mr. Anderson and cadets.

French Club hosted their annual end of the year picnic this afternoon! Fortunately, the sun came out and they were able to celebrate a successful 2025-2026 school year! Mr. Fankhauser says he has the best students for creating an inclusive and welcoming environment in which all are welcome to share the beauty and joy of the French speaking world! Bonne continuation and bonne vacances! πŸ†πŸ‡«πŸ‡·πŸ₯–
