Septic tanks are easy to forget about until there’s a backup, slow drains, or a soggy spot near the drain field.

In the Pacific Northwest, routine pumping is especially important because heavy rain and saturated soil can put extra strain on septic systems. Most tanks should be pumped every 3–5 years, but household size, water use, tank size, and garbage disposal use can all change that timeline.

Not sure if your system is due? Drain-Pro’s latest blog breaks down the warning signs, recommended pumping schedule, and simple maintenance tips for homeowners.

When buying a home, the standard inspection covers a lot, but it usually does not include the underground sewer line. That means cracks, roots, offsets, or buildup can go unseen until there is a much bigger problem.

Before closing on a home, consider adding a sewer inspection to your checklist. A camera inspection can help identify hidden issues in the sewer line and give you important information before making one of the biggest purchases of your life.

Drain-Pro recently supported a construction project at a Medical Center in Auburn with a sewer bypass while the main sewer line was shut down.

A bypass system keeps wastewater moving during construction so work can continue safely and efficiently while the main line is temporarily out of service. This kind of project takes the right equipment, planning, and experienced operators to keep everything running properly.

Sewer line issues are not always obvious during a showing or walkthrough. A home can look great on the surface while the sewer line has root intrusion, damage, or blockages underground.

Buying a home? Don’t forget what’s underground.

A standard home inspection usually won’t evaluate the sewer line—and hidden issues like root intrusion, cracked pipes, or collapsed sections can turn into major repairs after move-in.

A sewer scope inspection gives you a clear look at the condition of the line before closing, helping you avoid unexpected costs and make informed decisions about your investment.

In our latest blog, we cover:

* What a sewer inspection actually checks
* Common sewer line problems found during inspections
* Why sewer scopes matter for both older and newer homes
* When to schedule one during the buying process
