April was a barometer.

For the longest time, I only knew myself as the person i needed to become to survive.

The helper, the one who couldn’t show weakness, the caretaker, the calm one.

I was afraid to meet myself outside of that construct.

So i would sabotage to keep myself there, even though i knew my capacity was more.

Now ive met myself beyond survival, and that person is capable of so much more.

Ive learned to say no, to protect my self worth, and to dismiss negativity.

I used to think it would be some player who would unlock these doors for me, but no, good sessions will unlock these doors for me.

Basketball is tough because everyone is an expert since it’s accessible to casuals.

If i was a quarterback coach, you would believe me over your uncle, but basketball is different for some reason.

So we gotta fight through all this dogma, all these anecdotal stories that doesn’t make sense when tested.

It’s hard to see 10 years olds with tendinitis, to hear 12 year olds talking about NIL.

This pursuit is a marathon, and many of these kids will quit or be hurt before they are old enough to be good.

So we will keep showing the method.
