New for 2026. 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC thresholds have been changed from $600 to $2000. I have tried to determine when $600 became the threshold, but I have been unsuccessful. I am almost certain it has been that my entire professional career. And believe or not, the $2000 will be indexed for inflation.
