NOTICE: Purcell Lake Road will be closed on Saturday, June 6th from 8am to 3pm for Purcell Lake Day, and Sunday, June 7th from 6am to 6pm for our Tour de Dirt Mountain Bike Ride.
What this means for you: Come enjoy the events! Purcell Lake Day will have games and touch-a-truck, snow cones, free hot dogs, chips, and water while supplies last, bouncers for the kids to play in, and the most fun celebration of Purcell Lake's 60th Anniversary we could plan. There are some amazing prizes to win thanks to our many sponsors, and Mad Science will be by Rotary Pavilion providing STEAM programming for all to enjoy!
Tour de Dirt will be some of the best mountain biking in the area, and always lots of excitement and fun whether you're riding, enjoying the lake, or cheering on as a spectator!
If you're fishing, or playing through the disc golf course, please be aware that the gates will close at those times, and you won't be able to get in or out with a vehicle due to pedestrian or bike traffic and for safety reasons. We'd recommend planning for that, and remind you that there is an entire opposite side of the lake available away from the events/crowds.
We can't wait to see all of you there - bring a friend, bring your family, or come alone - it will be so much fun to spend the day with you!

Indoor Volleyball? YES, PLEASE!! 😍
Did you know that Purcell Parks and Recreation has a Multipurpose Center with a beautiful air conditioned indoor gym that's available, FREE, to come and play any time it's not reserved/rented for a private event? (It's also available to rent for your party, family reunion, or other gathering needs, as are our banquet rooms and pavilions!) We have Open Gym hours set aside every Friday from 8am to 8pm, but it's also available at various times during the week when we don't have team/sports/gymnastics/events - you're always welcome to call ahead and ask to find out if it's available!
We have an ice cold drinking fountain and water bottle filling station just outside the gym, and various sports equipment available to check out at the counter - volleyball net, pickleball net, basketball, tennis, you name it - we've got it. We also have a sand volleyball court at the lake, basketball courts outside in front of the MPC, and tennis courts in the back. Come play with us! Bring a friend or make a new one, we have a share-the-space philosophy! We just ask that you sign in at the front desk when you arrive. 😃 Hours are 8am to 8pm on weekdays, and 10am to 8pm on weekends. You can reach us at (405) 527-7227. :)
