Almost a week has gone by where we’ve been without power; once we lost power, I said that I’d be happy if we got power back by my birthday. I’m so happy to say that late yesterday we had our power restored. Today I’m waking up on my birthday to the AC running and it’s the greatest possible gift I could’ve ever received. This is the smallest sliver of hope that we’re moving towards normalcy once again. I know we have so much further to go, but remember, if you’re reading this, that we survived one of the strongest, largest, and most devastating hurricanes ever to hit Florida. Remember that Floridians are some of the strongest people in the country. Remember that we are a community of people here to help one another. Remember we are all human and should never forget our humanity! We have all gone through this horrible disaster and many have lost everything, so remember to look out for your family, your friends, your neighbors, your community, and anyone else who is in need. Please, if you’re in need of help, whether that be clothes washed, debris picked up, water, flash lights, an hour in the AC, whatever it might be, please reach out to me and I will help in anyway I can. The love and support of my family and friends has gotten me this far; so I want to share it with anyone who is in need more than me, so please don’t hesitate to ask. Stay strong, stay safe, and remember that we’re all going to get through this together!
