Several studies confirm the majority of Americans will require financial aid during minor emergencies. Moreover, even more citizens would be financially insecure during major disasters like an earthquake. Improving our individual financial security will improve the rate of recovery, while decreasing concerns of nutritional deprivation thus reducing child morbidity significantly. Local, State, and Federal assistance typically begins 96 hours after an event occurs. However, if the majority of residents are in line, how quickly will you get the supplies and funds you require to sustain your family.
The government shutdown shines a light on Americans' poor savings habits, research shows During this shutdown, one important thing has been clear: Many federal employees don’t have the savings needed to pay for their housing, cars and more.
