Whats working in January 2022 for ad buying...
Consolidation: For now, we’re leaving intricate account structures and segmented audiences in 2020 and 2021 and sticking with larger audiences, simpler account set-up.
Broad audiences: Don’t be afraid to go broad with minimal exclusions and see where it goes. We’ve seen broad working better than any other campaign in a handful of accounts this month.
Finding what worked in the past and testing it again: Try turning back on old campaigns from months ago that performed great then, but have since died out or been turned off. You might be surprised (and pleased) to see it might still have some good life in it.
Testing creative: Still important. Reels and TikTok videos are taking over the world right now, so don’t be afraid to make a quick-cut, low-quality iPhone video of your product with a voiceover (or even the awful robot voice) and run in all placements, not just Reels. Also try static image graphics with text overlay of a bold statement or the 2-5 words that the customer should take away from your ad if that’s all they see. Canva will be your friend for this.

If your brand is on social, you've GOT to be on Tiktok. Not sure where to start? Check out these tips 👇
1. When starting out it is important to follow and engage with users in your - this is how your get onto the For You page. The more users that engage, comment, like and share your content the longer it stays in the FYP (videos can stay for up to months at a time). The FYP is created this way to give users with a low follower count a chance to succeed within the TikTok algorithm (note: TikTok does not care if you have a big following as long as you create engaging content)
2. Post consistently every day for the first 6 months. While this may seem like a commitment, it is important to keep your page relevant by using trending sounds and hashtags. The key is to make short videos so that they have a completed watch time and get pushed out to users who are interested in the content you are putting out.
3. Unlike other social platforms, the time you post is not tethered to the amount of likes you get. Since time stamps aren’t visible on the For You page, users may not know the videos they’re watching are from long ago.
4. The algorithm is constantly evolving on purpose.
TikTok says it purposely shows users different types of videos, even if they don’t match what they may have engaged with in the past. “Our goal is to find balance between suggesting content that’s relevant to you while also helping you find content and creators that encourage you to explore experiences you might not otherwise see,” the company wrote.

Instagram is moving towards "Creator Shops" - a suite of new tools to help influencers make money off its platform. Creator Shops would be an extension of the company's shopping features which allows businesses to sell products.
The content creator business model is to create great content and help influencers sell stuff, to help create a kind of "creator middle class".
Bringing these kinds of tools into Instagram could make it easier to land deals. It could also give Instagram more control over its creator ecosystem, and incentivize influencers to spend more time on Instagram compared to other platforms.

The future is AR.
Snap INC buys Vertebrae, a web based 3D and AR solutions for e-commerce. Users can try on clothes, sunglasses and shoes from their living room. Early tests of AR shopping experiences have shown Snap that people are more likely to buy something after they interact with it in 3D. AR will make advertisements more effective, interactive and drive higher engagement rates.
