There are some summers that look exactly the way you imagined and then there are the ones that ask you to find beauty somewhere unexpected. My mom has spent the past few weeks in the hospital, so instead of creating a summer table at home, I wanted to bring a little bit of summer to her. Fresh flowers, a thoughtful gift, and a reminder that even in difficult seasons, beauty still has a place. I’ve always admired Martha Stewart’s philosophy that everyday life is worth celebrating—and sometimes that simply means making the room you’re in feel a little more loved. I was honored to partner with @elmbiosciences on this video. Martha co-created their skincare system with her dermatologist, Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali, after five years of development, and I love the idea of including a little ritual of care alongside the flowers. May brought the end of the school year and a blast into summer. We just got back from California and mama already needs a vacation (from her problems, as What About Bob would say). But dreams came true.
