Thanks to Public Works for taking advantage of the repaving work and making a small but important change to the 200 N/200 E mini-roundabout by adding “shark’s teeth” yield lines to remind drivers to slow down and yield for pedestrians and other traffic. Small things make a big difference.

The rubber bumpers around the roundabout that contributed to traffic calming will be restored, right?

UVU student killed in unsolved hit-and-run honored in Provo bridge project The city of Provo is bringing safety improvements to an area previously described as ‘dangerous’ by locals who walked or biked there.

As construction on the new 820 North Bridge wraps up, the city included a tribute to Isabelle Parr by incorporating her favorite flower, the sunflower, into the project.

Isabelle was a UVU student who was killed in a hit-and-run while jogging near this location in December 2022. More than three years later, the case remains unsolved.

We’re grateful to see this dangerous roadway connection being closed and replaced with a safer crossing. It’s heartbreaking that it took a tragedy like this to bring about change, but these improvements will help make the area safer for everyone who walks, bikes, and rolls through the area.

Honor cyclists who have been injured or killed on public roads. We will ride quietly and slowly to raise awareness about the importance of sharing the road and improving safety for cyclists.

Paul Ream Wilderness Park

Join the Provo Mayor’s Family Ride as part of the regional Golden Spoke event. This is a relaxed, family-friendly group ride along one of Provo’s best multi-use paths.

The ride will begin at Paul Ream Park at 10:00 AM and head west along the Provo River Trail toward the Provo River Delta Observation Tower, completing a counter-clockwise loop before returning to the park. The total distance is approximately 7.5 miles.

No registration is required. Just show up ready to ride. This is a great opportunity for riders of all ages and abilities to participate in Golden Spoke in a low-stress, community-oriented setting.

Bring water, helmets for all riders, and plan for a fun, social ride.
